What we learned mapping how international students access healthcare in Estonia, and why the biggest barriers weren't medical at all.

As someone who has spent the past few years building digital systems from ed-tech platforms to construction project management tools, I’ve constantly seen how deeply data influences decision-making. Now, as a student exploring the theoretical side of digital transformation, I’m starting to connect my practical experiences with the academic concepts.

Around 2.2% of Nepal’s population has disabilities, including visual, intellectual, and physical impairments. A National Statistics Office report estimates that only 43.94% of people with disabilities are literate, with lower rates in rural areas due to limited access to education, accessible learning materials, and qualified teachers.

Nepal is progressing with the Digital Nepal initiative, aiming to digitize all government services by 2030. The country's widespread electrification and growing internet penetration are key enablers of this transformation. With over 90% of households connected to electricity and internet penetration approaching 80%, the government is now offering various services online, such as applications for driving licenses, passports, and bill payments.

I was recently working on an Ed-tech project. The project is in early hand-off and testing with the users. The most basic features are live Mock/MCQ exams, course enrollments, live classes, downloadable resources, and sign-in/sign-up.
